Capital One Philippines, in partnership with Planet Water Foundation, celebrated a landmark achievement with the installation and turnover of its 100th water tower at Kalubkob Elementary School in Silang, Cavite last October 9.

Coinciding with Capital One Philippines’ 12th anniversary, the milestone addresses the critical need for safe and accessible drinking water for those in underserved and calamity-driven communities. This is in alignment with one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals of providing access to clean water as a fundamental step toward reducing poverty and improving access to education.

“Reaching our 100th water tower is not just a number for us - it represents 100 communities gaining access to an essential resource, and thousands of lives made better, safer, and healthier because of it,” said Capital One Philippines Head of Country Raoul Teh. “The water tower project is a testament to the dedication of our associates who have championed this cause from the very beginning. We are incredibly proud to share this milestone with the students and faculty of Kalubkob Elementary School.”

The water tower project has grown exponentially since its inception in 2016. For the first five years, the first 12 towers were deployed in communities across Batangas, Muntinlupa, Pampanga, Laguna, and Tondo. The project then accelerated significantly, reaching 78 towers by the end of 2024 and expanding its reach to Quezon, Cavite, Baguio, Cebu, and Leyte.

The initiative also provides disaster response through mobile AquaBlocks water filtration systems for areas hardest hit by natural calamities in recent years. This includes Masbate and Cebu, which were severely affected by Typhoon Opong and the recent earthquake respectively.

Capital One Philippines aims to deploy 8 more towers, bringing the total to 108 by the end of 2025 with more being planned for 2026. s

“While we celebrate this 100th water tower, we see it not as a final goal but as a reaffirmation of our long-term commitment,” said Teh. “We will continue to partner with communities in need, because access to this essential resource is fundamental to health, education, and unlocking greater opportunities for all.”
